Our Hospital Admission’s Office is located at the main entrance to the Hospital, and the Emergency Admission’s Office is located at the back of the Hospital. Our Admission’s staff will process all the admission paperwork and will provide advice regarding local and foreign insurance companies, as well as general information on the location of the Hospital areas, medical offices and hospitalized patients.
Our Hospital Admission’s Office provides a 24 hour service in the following time schedule:
Hospital Admission:
Monday to Friday 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Emergency Admission:
24 hours 365 days of the year
The Admission’s Office requires the following documents to process your admission:
•Hospitalization order issued by your doctor, together with the diagnosis.
•Personal identification card (Panamanians) or passport (foreigners)
•Social Security Card and employer payment record (if necessary)
•Insurance policy or insurance card (if you have one)
•Pre-authorization issued by your insurance company and second opinion document (for elective patients)
•Confirmation of benefits issued by your insurance company.
Pre-admission
To speed up admission to the hospital, the hospital suggests that patients go through the Pre-admission process in order to obtain the following information beforehand:
•Medical Order
•Pre-certification
•Second Opinion
•Amount of the health costs covered by your insurance plan, and any other approval granted by your insurance company. These will speed up your admission.
Recommendations during your stay
Inform your floor’s receptionist of any damage found or caused in your room.
Maintain an open communication with your health care providers and follow their instructions for your own benefit.
Inform your visitors and/or companions to speak quietly. Please remember there are other patients using the facilities close to you.
During your stay at the hospital, please wear the personal information bracelet given by the hospital at check-in.
Please make sure that the financial obligations related to your health care are covered in a specific time period and prior to your discharge.
Please comply with Law No. 13 of January 25th, 2008, which clearly specifies the prohibition against smoking tobacco in health care facilities.
