Located on the ground floor of the hospital, the Radiology and Imaging Department offers multiple benefits you may receive, such as radiology and imaging studies that analyze the different areas of the body from different perspectives, facilitating the early detection of illnesses and offering an optimum and timely diagnosis.
All the equipment at Pacifica Salud Hospital Radiology and Imaging Ward are from the latest technology and offer outstanding advantages like high resolution images from highly sophisticated and precise digital devices.
Type of tests we perform:
SELENIA DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY:
The mammography at Pacifica Salud Hospital is a Selenia device, completely digital and offers many advantages, the most important one being that it decreases radiation by 30%, while maintaining an excellent image quality.
3.0 TESLA MAGNETIC RESONANCE:
The magnetic resonance (MRI) is an advanced technology that allows the observation of the internal organs, blood vessels, muscles, joints, tumors, infected areas and much more, helping with the early detection of many illnesses, without the need of x-rays, surgery and in a painless manner.
3 AND 4 DIMENSIONS ULTRASOUNDS:
The diagnosis through an ultrasound consists on the use of high frequency sound waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. Ultrasounds are used to produce images of the gallbladder, liver, kidneys, pancreas, uterus, ovaries, prostate, testicles, thyroid and mammary glands. They can also provide us with visual and acoustic information of the blood flow in the inner part of the neck arteries and veins, abdomen and legs, as well as the different valves and chambers of the heart. These ultrasound devices with the 3 and 4 dimension advance technology are excellent for efficient and versatile shared services, complying with the image requirements in any medical situation, making it easier to get a diagnosis.
BONE DENSITY TEST:
The bone density test is an important tool in the treatment of osteoporosis. It helps physicians during the diagnosis, assessment of the fracture risk and control of the therapy response.
Pacifica Salud Hospital has a bone density test device that sets the standard, since it has high performance applications and advantages for the comfort of the patient and physician use.
It provides a faster and more precise diagnosis, with remote access from any point.
All the equipment from Punta Pacifica Hospital helps deliver images in digital format. The RIS/PAC system creates a file/electronic record for each patient that allows the radiologist or treating physician to have quick access to previous explorations and compare the findings.
The physician can check the images from his office or from any part of the world for a quicker diagnosis, without the need of coming to the hospital or making the patient bring the x-rays.
The results obtained are safer and more precise, with the possibility of managing the images to zoom in and rotate them without modifying the original image and having to take it again. This way, an image can be compared with one from previous years, since a record of the patient’s images is kept. All this in addition to the high resolution images obtained through the modern equipment found at Hospital Punta Pacifica.
