The Intensive Care Unit of Pacifica Salud Hospital, located on the 5th floor, is equipped with supplies and equipment necessary to give high quality care, with leading technology for our patients.
Patients with a high risk of getting complicated, but with the possibility of a recovery, are admitted to this ward: hypertensive, diabetic, serious and complicated patients with recovery possibilities.
The Intensive Care Unit offers:
Hemodynamic monitoring (Invasive and Non-invasive) that measures the vital signs second by second and minute by minute like cardiac frequency and blood pressure.
Mechanical Ventilation (Invasive and Non-invasive).
Special care for cardiovascular patients.
Highly qualified staff in Critical Therapy.
Compliance with nurse-patient ratio.
Serious patient – 1 Nurse
Cardiovascular patient – 1 Nurse
Serious pediatric patient – 1 Nurse
Centricity: X-rays and lab results are received in the unit through computerized means.
Fluid therapy: we have the single dose pharmacy service, which guarantees the sterility of the medications administered from a laminar flow hood.
Cellbyte: computerized system for medical orders and control of supplies.

Visiting schedule and General Information for visitors at the Intensive Care Unit:
Visiting schedule:
7:30 until 8:00 a.m.
12:00 until 1:00 p.m.
6:00 until 7:00 p.m.
General information for visitors:
Only 2 visitors per patient are allowed during the visiting hours (family members must alternate).
Introduce yourself to the security staff at the entrance of the unit.
Hand hygiene before and after leaving the unit.
It’s not allowed to come in wearing street clothes (we will offer you a hospital gown during your visit).
The use of cell phones inside the patient’s unit is prohibited.
Coming in the unit with food is prohibited.
Children under 2 years of age are not allowed.
Semi-Intensive Care Unit
This ward is located on the 6th floor of the hospital and is designed for patients that have been at intensive care or require monitoring of the vital signs, but their condition is stable and only requires monitoring.
In this ward, we guarantee the following care:
- Immediate
- Personalized every hour. Every minute, with monitoring at the patient’s bedhead, ensuring a high safety and care
- High quality, taking in consideration the human side as the mission we have with our patients, preserving life, as well as their dignity and confidentiality.
All the equipment at this ward is high-tech, making it easier to detect possible illnesses that may arise while the patient is at the ward.
The semi-intensive care unit has:
3 rooms, designed to offer comfort and safety to the patient during the observation process.
4 ventilators for adults and pediatric patients, in addition to the purchase of a NAVAS ventilator.
